Pascha Sunday
Pascha (Greek, Latin) or Resurrection Sunday commemorates the resurrection of Jesus from the dead as noted in the Gospel. This event occurred on the third day of Jesus’ burial following his crucifixion at Calvary on 30 AD. To further celebrate this victory over death, my granddaughter’s expression in her new outfit on her first Pascha Sunday in the year of 2020 gives us a glimpse of our expression when we too transition from the known to unknown, from this physical realm to the spiritual realm, and from despair on earth to a glorious reunion in heaven. If you will recognize Blythe’s innocence in this video and her reliance on her parents at the age of four months, we can easily compare our same reliance on Jesus who is the firstfruits of the resurrection. For I believe that God the Father recognized our innocence in needing a Savior to redeem us. Therefore, the necessity of this redemption unfolded today as we celebrate Pascha Sunday. Even, the Apostle Paul informed us that Jesus is the firstfruits among the brethren; however, John declared in the Revelation that we are the firstfruits as redeemed unto God by the Lamb, who is Jesus. (Revelation 14:4)
Thanks Blythe Bryant for that reminder of our need for reliance as we watch you grow into person you are destiny to become. Happy Pascha Sunday 2020!
