Prevention of Distortion

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 KJV

Have you ever thought about the future reign of Jesus as prophesied by Isaiah? I believe this reign starts the day you acknowledge Jesus as your personal Savior. Prior to this acknowledgment, darkness distorts the primary evidence of reality. Darkness is an ever-present element that existed before creation. Therefore, only light can illuminate this distortion, so darkness vanishes when light appears. Since God is light, His appearance fades distortion, and without God’s presence, distortion remains in the form of darkness.

Therefore, this verse illustrates that Jesus' birth simultaneously provides a means of alleviating human distortion. By removing distortions, humans can exercise their citizenship in the Kingdom. Remember, Jesus is also a ruler who exercises authority as part of his rulership, and the citizens of His Kingdom recognize and submit to His rule. Yet, we often think His rulership will only occur during the millennium. So, if light removes your distortion by acknowledging Jesus as Savior, why not acknowledge Him as a ruler? The absence of this recognition may allow darkness to overtake you while allowing worldly desires to distort your peace of mind. Remember Jesus’ words as follows:

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10

Essentially, you can experience life without distortion while enjoying the provision of your Ruler right now on earth. So, take a step back from viewing life through the lenses of distortion and begin seeing it through the eyes of Jesus. You are a child of the living God in His Kingdom, and you recognize Him as Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, and The Prince of Peace.
