Simeon found closure when he held Jesus in his arms, because his next statement is profound:

³⁴ And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;

³⁵ (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.  (Luke 2:34-35 KJV)

Leviticus 22:31-33 (KJV)

³¹ Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the Lord. ³² Neither shall ye profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the Lord which hallow you, ³³ That brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord.

The Sabbath or the day of rest is a gift for one to reflect on the awesomeness of God and one’s dependence on Him.

For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

Agree to Disagree

When you read Acts 12, one of the first questions I ask myself is whether Divine Intervention had occurred if the Church had failed to pray.

⁵ Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. (Act 12:5 KJV)

May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands.

Psalms 90:17

If we give a tithe – that is, 10% of our income or assets – to God, it isn’t as if the remaining 90% is ours to do with as we please. It all belongs to God, but He allows us to manage the remaining 90% directly.

Do Justly, Love Mercy, and Walk humbly with God.

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
